CAD/Technical Wide Format Plotter Paper

Because inkjet printers are subject to "bleeding" during the printing process, the industry standard necessitates chemical coating on most lines within this type of paper. Most CAD/Technical printers spin rolls with 2" cores and 150-300' lengths.

Uncoated bond wide format plotter paper is one of the most commonly used materials for day-to-day CAD drawings that require sharp, clean black and white results. Even within this subgroup of CAT/Technical wide format plotter papers, different weights and structures can accomplish most basic CAD print jobs and even allow for some light color printing.

Freedom Paper offers an eco-friendly line of uncoated bond wide format plotter paper in the CAD family. When an inexpensive, but good quality recycled product will serve your needs, this environmentally friendly option will certainly produce beautiful print results.

Coated bond paper is fabricated to capture the unique ink application of CAD/Technical printers. Maintaining the same structural integrity and weight of their uncoated counterparts, these lines of paper also control reflectivity and ink bleed throughout the fibers of the media.

For a higher quality presentation or preservation result, many graphic designers prefer coated paper products.

As with uncoated papers, there exist several weights and quality elements that distinguish different grades of coated bond paper. For most jobs, a medium grade coated bond does a marvelous job. Sometimes, however, a sharper image contrast or texture is needed. For these jobs, Freedom offers a premium coated bond.

Finally, among the coated bond classes, we also carry heavyweight premium coated bonds, known as Heavyweight Presentation Paper. Excellent for microfilming, pen plots, imposition proofing, check prints, this product boasts quick drying, bright contrast, rich color density and gradation.

In some cases, a non-bond product is needed for CAD/Technical applications. Mylar for inkjet printers provides excellent archival properties, while adding the advantage of being "wet erasable" for design alteration requirements. Double-matte paper is designed for two-sided erasure and perfect for CAD/GIS applications. For transparent overlay technical designs, clear film products are readily available and may be used on dye-ink printers.

The final class of CAD/Technical papers we carry is the translucent grade line. Inkjet Translucent Bond, once a common go-to product for technical drawings is available, but for archive-quality crisp line drawings, high resolution text and uniformity in the solid printing zones, inkjet vellum's unique 100% cotton fiber is the ideal choice for translucent overlays and blueprints.

Engineering/LCD/Copier Wide Format Plotter Paper

Engineering/LCD wide format plotter paper rolls usually have a 3" core and vary in length from 150-500', depending on the weight of the product. While some of the industry terminology describing these products is similar to CAD/Technical papers, the engineering wide format plotter paper is optimized for xerographic and other laser technologies.

Opaque bond wide format plotter paper is heavier and more durable than the thinner materials often associated with plotters. Similar in characteristics to fibrous media used by mints, this material is found in high-quality stationary and documents requiring durability (paper money, government Treasury Bonds.) With a courser, more textured surface than traditional plotter media, opaque bond is less destructible and produces excellent resolution. Besides, the familiar white color, bond engineering paper may be purchased in blue, pink, green or yellow tints.

Bond laser paper is available in 20 lb. standard weight and 24 lb. premium duty rolls, boxed or in bulk. Within the 20 lb. family, we are also pleased to introduce an eco-friendly bond line composed of 30% post-consumer recycled paper and available boxed or in bulk skids. Most of our bond lines may be purchased with the paper taped to the core, requisite to certain models of Xerox copiers.

Also available in bond weights is a translucent alternative to mylar films and the more premium vellum lines of engineering plotter paper. As with the CAD papers, the translucent bonds for laser printers are an affordable option for designers and graphic artists not requiring archival or higher resolution printouts of their work.

When translucency and archival properties are mandated, other classes of engineering paper produce high-quality, flexible alternatives to standard bond. Double-matted mylar film provides excellent results for overlay technical drawings. This product is a preferred choice for printers requiring a smaller gauge medium for printing see-through drawings.
